hey, this is why moi-magazine is good. You just keep on posting normally. Random picks are totally random no category needed.

yes romeo you can do that easily. open index.php file in theme folder and do the following steps.
on line 15-16-17 you'll find something like this:
<?php $my_query = new WP_Query('orderby=rand&showposts=10');
while ($my_query->have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post();
?>
replace this all with:
>
<?php $myposts = get_posts('numberposts=12&offset=0&cat=5');foreach($myposts as $post)
here 'numberposts=12' are the amount of posts, 'cat=5' is the category selected. Change '5' with the category ID you are willing to use. You can also use multiple categories.
I hope you know how to get category ID's if you don't just reply back i'll show you walk through
Hi, yeah i know how to find category ID.
Thank a lot for helping me!!
no problem at all. just keep in touch many good tutorials and themes coming soon

custom key ‘thumbnail’ with small ‘t’ not work sir, why?
Make sure you CHMOD 'cache' folder in Moi Magazine theme directory. It is important for timthumb.php to generate thumbnails.
Hi CHMODed the 'cache' folder to 0755 – still no thumbnails. Anything else I can do?
Hello, help please. how to incorporate the latest comments on the main page. Excuse me for my En.

Yes this is possible in fact i've done everything for you and sent you modded files via e-mail you provided with comment.
Hi I have the same issue I would appreciate it if you could send me those files. Your themes are amazing keep up the good work and thank you!
Vabulous theme dear!
Im having the same problem as Kristian. Is there any chance you can send me the files so the thumbnails come from images already inserted into my posts?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I really like your theme, but is there any way to get the thumbnail automatically using plugins such as timthumb or get the image?
Thanks.
hey Kristian are you saying that you wan to show image automatically from post attachments and not from 'thumbnail' key?? Because Moi Magazine is already using timthumb plugin its used to crop images.
Well, my old site already has a lot of posts, and it will be a hassle to add custom field. So will it pull the image automatically to create the thumbnail without filling out the “thumbnail” custom field?

Hello Cathy glad you liked my new theme.
If you are not using FTP client to transfer files to your server then no probs there is another work around i am gonna explain it step by step.
1. Download moi-magazine.zip file from the 'Download' button above and save it to your desktop.
2. Go to your blog Admin Dashboard.
3. Under 'Appearance' tab find 'Add New Themes' go in there.
4. On this Install Screen select 'Upload' from menu.
5. Browse moi-magazine.zip file from your desktop and click 'Install Now'
You are done. If something is still not right comment back
4.
Thanks but there is no 'Add New Themes' option?
can you please tell me which version of wordpress are you using?
I have just created a blog at wordpress.com, I have not downloaded anything
Cathy i am sorry to say you can not install themes on wordpress.com blogs. In order to use custom themes you must have a self-hosted wordpress blog. more information is available over http://wordpress.org
Ok thanks for the help.
anytime. happy to help
Hi, I would like to place ads on my site. I have used google adsense in the past. Where do I get the banner links you mention above?
Simply does not work custom key 'thumbnail' and 't', shows the title. But the image does not show.
In order to insert adsense on your site you need to manually edit theme files. If you are looking to setup 125px banner ads go to
Admin Dashboard > Appearance tab > Moi Magazine Theme Options
You can just add the Adsense plug in which will allow you to add adsense to your pages and posts. I've used All in One Adsense and YPN and it works OK with this theme.
Hey rodger
Go to Moi Magazine theme folder on your web server CHMOD 777 your 'cache' folder. This is necessary for timthumb.php
do i find this on BlueHost or WordPress.org?! I am sooo confused how to edit or add the custom thumbnails…Please advise. Thanks!
kindly have a look on readme.txt file that ships with theme package.
Where do I get the banner ads from? Are you using a service that generates them?
No there are different websites they give you affiliate commission on referring them buyers it totally depends on your niche you should find good affiliate programs according to your niche.
The other way of earning from these banners is to sell banners for traffic just put in a blank banner saying 'Your Ad here' and point it to your package plans page.

I have followed your instructions – including CHMOD to 777 of the cache folder and I still get only the title – no images. I would really love for this to work on my blog – it would be perfect.
Still having trouble with this myself. I've followed the steps in the readme and above. I've tried inserting the image into the post before closing the upload window and tried without inserting it (just copying the image link both times).
Did you ever have any luck?
Still having trouble with this myself. I've followed the steps in the readme and above. I've chmodded the folder, added the image, copied the link, created the custom field, checked the URL in the custom field value is valid, made sure I used a small t in the field name. Did you ever get this sorted SF?
After struggling for a few days with the issue of the thumbnails not appearing, even when following the instructions given, I finally found the solution in a tutorial here http://michaelhutagalung.com/2008/08/tutorial-tim…
When you add the image URL to the key value (custom field), don't enter it as http://www.healthhappinesswealthguide.com/wp-content/upl...
Delete the blog home page part of the address (http://www.healthhappinesswealthguide.com/ ) and only enter whatever comes after, which in my case is wp-content/uploads/2009/12/whatever.jpg
It works perfectly for me now and my site looks just as gorgeous as I'd hoped it would. I hope this solution helps the many other people here who were struggling with the same issue.
Kindly tell me what custom key are you trying to put in?
it is like
custom key: thumbnail
custom key value: image url
